I love using human-centred design research to create real-world solutions. While I'm a fresh graduate, I come with freelance and in-house designer experience, as well as a Golden Key award for academic excellence. I’m also passionate about teaching and enabling others to create solutions using good design.
Always creative, I started writing and illustrating my first book at 5 years old, but my true passion was discovered while pioneering a young adults leadership/mentorship program as office admin and manager. The job description: everything. Graphic design became my favourite part of the job but my eye for excellence wasn’t happy with my work. There had to be a hundred rules I was breaking, I just didn’t know what they were. So I committed myself to five years of finding out and attuning the quality of my work to match my taste for excellence.
I’ve discovered that I enjoy research, have stellar advertising strategies, focus on UX, and have fun with print media. Being both analytical and creative, I can process complex data and approach things logically while implementing solutions with creative passion and flair.
Cool fact: I’ve put myself through five years of university without student debt using hard-work, strategic budgeting, and acute time management. My bulldog “get-it-done” mentality that allowed me to help start a leadership program keeps me on track to maintain motivation and academic excellence.
Outside of school I’ve been a part of various community outreach groups, sat on conference committees and organized events hosting up to 200 people. Pre-COVID I volunteered my time at local community events, ran a community coffeeshop, and shared my experiences in mentorship programs. I love helping behind the scenes in big and small ways to make things happen. If I'm not volunteering or working on my latest design project I'm redecorating, refurbishing, or on a mountain adventure!
